Paramount Hotel

Now in Dubai

Under license from the eponymous Hollywood studio and a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the first-ever Paramount Hotel, located in Dubai, has 823 guestrooms that pay homage to American cinema. Framed stills from classic Hollywood films adorn the walls, while standing lamps resemble spotlights on movie sets. Guests can recreate famous moments in Paramount’s cinematic history with suites dedicated to film icons like the Francis Ford Coppola movie The Godfather and ’30s American actress Carole Lombard.

Anantara

Now in Malaysia

Thai brand Anantara has opened its first property in the Malaysian state of Johor – best reached by an hour-long drive from Singapore’s Woodlands Checkpoint. Set along 17km of beachfront facing the South China Sea, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas boasts 90 rooms in low-rise buildings inspired by traditional Malay architecture. Besides two swimming pools set amidst greenery, the resort has a signature Anantara spa and state-of-the-art fitness center.

No Mad Hotels

Now in London

NoMad Hotels has made its first foray outside of the US. The exceptionally cool American hotel brand is transforming a historic 19thcentury building in London’s Covent Garden into a 91-room hotel, set to open this summer. Distinctive design features will play off the building’s former incarnation as a police station and magistrates’ court, with prison cells converted into guestrooms and the courtroom turned into a private event space.
