Just when you thought that the Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down the global economy and put a hold on the world’s over-the-top luxury projects, Dubai has announced the latest addition to its already impressive list of modern architectural wonders.

Located along the artificial Dubai Water Canal that crosses the Sheikh Zayed Road bridge, the Middle East’s newest landmark is called The Residences, Dorchester Collection, Dubai. And here is the view from inside the building.

The mixed development project includes a hotel and a residential tower; there will also be a shopping center and high-end F&B outlets. Designed by international, award-winning architects Foster and Partners, the property comprises two interconnected towers.

The first tower will house the 10th iconic Dorchester Collection hotel, while the second one is a 32-storey residential tower that includes 39 fully furnished residences. Below is the entrance to the residential tower.

The top three floors of The Residences have six four- and five-bedroom penthouses at 1,644sqm each, with soaring ceilings, vast, uninterrupted views of the sea, and its own swimming pool overlooking Dubai Canal and stunning Dubai cityscape.

To be managed by hospitality brand Dorchester Collection, the property is being developed by Omniyat and located in Downtown Dubai where these other Omniyat properties are located: The Sterling apartments, The Opus residential and commercial tower and The Langham Place residences.
